Lindsey's Central School Shower

On Tuesday, March 15, we threw John & Lindsey a school-wide shower for baby Sadie. She got LOTS of goodies and a baby bottle bank full of money.

Lindsey is almost 34 weeks in this picture! Sadie's starting to stick out there.

It's really setting in that soon Lindsey won't be at school anymore. My buddy, my sidekick, the one who listens to me gripe when I've had a bad day, my partner in crime....I could go on and on. Its going to be strange the rest of this year and next year going to school and not having her in the next room. I am so happy for her and the fact that she is able to stay home with her babies! :-) Yes, I said babies....I predict another Gorin baby probably pretty soon! haha She may kill me for saying that. Lindsey, if you're reading this, thanks for being such an awesome friend. And because I won't see you at school, well...that just means I'll have to come at least once a week to see you and Sadie!

Our 3rd grade team minus Heady AGAIN...Brooks was still cooking!

Fiesta for Sadie

So...what teacher at Central doesn't enjoy an excuse to get together and eat Mexican!?! I knew that the school would do a shower for Lindsey, but I wanted to do something else special for her and Sadie apart from school. So we had a "shower" at Rosie's on Thursday night, March 10th. The theme of the gifts was anything off her registry and instead of a card everyone brought a book. Inside the book, everyone wrote a little note to Sadie. Sadie will know from these books how much she was prayed for and loved before she was even born!
The little insert in the invitation said this:

Although cards are nice with their sentiment and prayer, they’re read once or twice and tucked away with care. A book is a treasure, words and pictures unite, read over and over to teach and delight. So instead of a card for baby and mother, please give a child’s book with your thoughts in the cover. Your book will be cherished: God will watch from above, when it’s read they will remember your kindness and love.

I LOVE this idea, but I cannot take credit for it. I copied it from another girl from my church. I love the idea of giving books. I mean, after all, we are teachers. Our kids definitely need lots of books to read!

I can't believe my best friend is this close to having a baby--although, it seems like she's been pregnant for FOREVER. We joke about it being so long because I found out at the time of conception(no, really that soon!) HAHA

Third grade teachers! Minus Heady who was at home, resting and holding baby Brooks in!

Showering Heady :-)

On Tuesday,February 22nd Lindsey, Staci, and I gave Michelle a shower for baby Brooks! Can't wait to meet him SOON! Michelle is going to be out of school for the rest of the year and that makes me sad....I'll be losing her AND Lindsey for the rest of the year! :-( I will miss them BOTH so much! Here are a few pics from the shower.

Adorable cake for baby Brooks!

Diaper cake I made! These are my new favorite things to make!
Unfortunately, I had to go to a meeting so I got very few pictures of the shower.

Schooooool's OUT for SNOW!

I sure hope Madison County Board of Education is planning on adding weather days for next year's school calendar. We got between 7-9 inches of SNOW! Today was our 3rd day out of school and we're off again TOMORROW! I'm not complaining (necessarily); its nice being at home and sleeping in. However the teacher in me is thinking about what all we have to cram in before SATs and ARMT. But I keep trying to push that out of my mind and enjoy it for now! Looking like we'll be in school until the last week of May now. Bummer. Oh well, the snow was fun and totally worth it!

The Kelleys came and had a sleepover Sunday night with us so we'd get to all play in the snow together on Monday! Maggie loved eating the snow!

This was on Wednesday (January 12th-our 3rd snow day). We went down to sled/snow tube with the sweet Marsh family down the street. Here Brady and I are riding the intertube down the boys' paved out icy slope in their ditch!

I believe this was after Nathan and I crashed! haha

Cindy flying down the ditch!

Precious picture---look at the excitement on Brady's face!

FUN, FUN DAY! Thank you Lord for all the beautiful snow and the memories we made!

White Christmas 2010

Sure, I've always wished for snow on Christmas Day. And this year they forecasted it for Christmas Day, but I didn't think we'd get more than a dusting. Well....we DID! We got about 3 inches! Luckily all of Nathan's family got here before roads were impassible. Here are a few pictures of our Christmas this year.

Showing off my UGGS that Nathan got me! Favorite present this year!

Nathan's big present from me--Fossil bag for school

Our little family at Christmas time! Sam truly is like our baby or at least until we have one :-)

My neice Kristen and I playing in the snow!

Can't believe this is already our 3rd Christmas together as a couple!

House Divided....IRON BOWL 2010- Tuscaloosa

We always have been and always will be a true house divided. I love BAMA and he loves AUBURN. Period. End of story. No matter what anyone tells us, we will NOT change. I am not changing for him and he is not changing for me. I was born and raised a BAMA fan and nothing's gonna change that! I love him and put up with his "Auburnness", but I will still say ROLL TIDE!
This year we headed down to T-Town on Friday, November 26th with Michael and Crysta for the Iron Bowl. To say it was cold that day is a complete understatement. It was FREEZING! The first half Alabama was unstoppable and it was looking like a very promising night for me! However, our luck soon ended and Auburn ended up winning by 1 point. It was a bummer. The rest of my crew was happy though! Even though we lost, it was a great day with good friends!

Pre-game. Why do I have so many Auburn fan friends?!?

Finally in our seats inside the stadium....FREEZING! Oh and by this time its starting to drizzle!

The view from our seats in Bryant Denny Stadium!
